Who Am I

I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania U.S and have been living in The Netherlands since 2002.  I have three kids, Anna and Nicholas & Josh with my wife, Mariette.

My interests…Hanging out in the forests and mountains; hiking, skiing, running, golfing; reading & writing; traveling; music, old movies & independent movies; wine.  Being a dad.

I love exploring and learning…new places, new cultures, new experiences that extend my limits, new people.  I have traveled much and worked widely throughout the US, Europe, and Asia.  A bit in Africa, Australia and the Middle East.

Over the years, I’ve aspired to be a doctor, an architect, a psychologist, a writer and a playwright.  In the end, though more psychologist than anything, I am a bit of all of these things in the way I work with people and companies.  And my unchanging aspiration has been simply to do good by others and leave a positive footprint on life.

Though to my great disappointment I am not a master of languages, I am a native English speaker (‘Pittsburgh’-version) and conversational Dutch speaker.

Over the years, I have played professional roles of…

  • Leader, Manager, Team member, Conference Speaker
  • Strategist, Organization Designer, Organization Effectiveness Consultant,  M&A Due Diligence and Integration Specialist, Innovator
  • Salesperson, Account Manager
  • Diagnostician, Applied Behavior Analyst, Facilitator, ‘Toxic Handler’, Change Agent, ‘Pain-in-the-xss’, Problem solver
  • HR Director, Leadership Developer, Performance Coach, Learning & Development Expert, Trainer, Teacher, Business Process Re-designer
  • Friend, Trusted Advisor, Partner, Student
